Laura is a NASD licensed investment broker, holding Series 24, 63 and 7 licenses. Her undergraduate degree is from Duke University and her two graduate degrees are from Washington University. Before launching a business as a communications consultant, Laura Emerson's career included years as an award-winning teacher, expert chemical market analyst and consultant, and marketing and intelligence VP in the chemical and telecommunications industries. She was a Board member of WITI (Women in Technology, Int'l) in 2001 & 2002.

She frequently writes articles for entrepreneurs seeking investment capital, such as "Why Wouldn't You Want a Licensed Broker-Dealer?", "Reality Check to Funding Check - Financing Options for Growing Businesses," and "Due Diligence Workbook."
